Keyword Search
Keyword searches will look for PITTCat records which contain the words you typed in anywhere in the record. If you are searching for keywords in a specific field (e.g., the title field) you must specify a field in the "Search by" drop down list.
Use ? for truncation of a word. For example, comput? retrieves compute, computer, computers, computation...
Don't include Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT) or quotation marks in your search - use the pull-down boxes.
The default option for keyword searching is "all of these".
All of these
means that all of the words you typed in the "Search for" box must appear in the PITTCat record.
Any of these
means that any of the words you type in the "Search for" box will appear in the PITTCat record.
As a phrase
means that the words you type in must appear in the PITTCat record in the order in which you have typed them.
